Chase Morland (born 1993, from Van Buren, Arkansas) was a hunter and a friend of country music star, Craig Strickland. Chase worked sales for the Plythal Lethal Layering System, a line of outerwear for hunters and outdoors enthusiasts. He joined the Backroad Anthem lead singer for a Dec. 2015 duck-hunting trip in Kay County, Oklahoma. Chase ominously tweeted on Dec. 27, “In case we don’t come back, Craig and I are going right through Winter Storm Goliath to kill ducks in Oklahoma.” Sadly, the extreme winter weather would lead to Chase’s death. The boat carrying him and Craig capsized, and the two were reported missing on Dec. 28. Authorities unfortunately recovered Chase’s dead body quickly, and Craig was found dead one week later on Jan. 4.
