Diego Luna (born Diego Luna-Alexander in Mexico City, Mexico on Dec. 29, 1979) is a Mexican actor, producer, and director. Diego first got his start in the industry at the age of three year old, when he starred in popular telenovela Antonieta in 1982. Following shortly after, Diego went on to get a role in El Abuelo y Yo with his childhood best friend Gael Garcia Bernal in 1992. Diego’s career started to gain international attention in 2001, after he starred in Y tu Mama Tambien alongside Gael. The film earned Diego many awards and nominations including a MTV Movie award. Following his success in foreign films and television shows, Diego attempted to make a name for himself in the United States, starring in films like Vampires: Los Muertos with Bon Jovi and the Academy-Award winning film Frida. Other notable films Diego was cast include Open Range, Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights, and the Harvey Milk biopic in 2008, Milk. In 2012, Diego directed an English-language film, Cesar Chavez, which was a biopic about the American labor leader. In Dec. 2016, Diego starred in major blockbuster film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

Best Known For:
Diego Luna is best known for his role as Carlos in the Spanish film Y tu Mama Tambien. He can also be recognized for his role in the Rogue One, Star Wars spin-off.

Personal Life:
Diego Luna married Mexican actress Camila Sodi in Feb. 2008. Together, the couple had two children. After five years of marriage,  Diego and Camila divorced in 2013. In addition to acting, Diego cofounded a nonprofit organization called Ambulante A.C., which promotes the filming and directing of documentary films.
